Boarding Policies & Procedures

  1. All dogs that are going to be staying overnight must have passed a temperament assessment and have spent atleast one full day on a weekday in daycare prior to their overnight stay to make sure they are comfortable in our daycare.
  2. We may request that a dog spend one overnight in our facility prior to their overnight stay to make sure they are comfortable in our overnight facility. This will be handled on a case-by-case basis.
  3. Check-in time is no later than 12:30 p.m.
  4. Checkout time is10:00 a.m. to avoid being charged for a half day or a full day of daycare. If picked up by 12:30 p.m. will be charged $16.00 for a half day of daycare. If picked up after 12:30 p.m. will be charged $24.00 for a full day of daycare.
  5. Overnight charges are separate from daycare packages. Daycare packages cannot be used toward overnight boarding charges.
  6. Reservations and credit card prepayment in full are required for each stay. A one-night prepayment by credit card or cash is required upon making an overnight reservation. The remainder of your payment is due in full upon arrival for your dogs stay by credit card or cash.
  7. Cancellation policy – please call to cancel as soon as you know you will not be bringing your dog for boarding. 48 hours advance notice is required to avoid being charged for your stay.
  8. If your dog is not feeling well (coughing, diarrhea, etc.) please call us prior to bringing your dog for boarding, as we are unable to accommodate dogs that are ill. If your dog becomes ill while at Camp Doggie Tails (coughing, diarrhea, etc.) we will seek veterinary care at your expense. If it is determined that your dogs illness is contagious, other arrangements will need to be made for his/her care until no longer contagious. You must provide an emergency contact that can pick up your dog and keep him/her until they are no longer contagious.
  9. In the event your dog requires emergency veterinary care while being boarded, it will be handled as deemed best by our daycare staff. You agree to assume full financial responsibility for any expenses involved.
  10. Even though all dogs attending our daycare/boarding must receive their Bordatella vaccination every 6 months, there is still a possibility they might contract a different strain of kennel cough.
  11. All dogs must be on a year round monthly flea prevention program. If you use a topical flea preventative on your dog, please make sure that you apply it atleast 24 hours prior to coming to Camp Doggie Tails. This insures the product will be dispersed properly throughout your dogs coat and avoid having another dog accidentally ingest some of the product during play.
  12. While boarding your dog, it is important to keep him/her on the same food they are fed regularly at home. Sudden changes in food can lead to diarrhea and discomfort. Therefore, it is necessary for you to bring enough his/her regular food to last the entire stay. If you forget their food or they run out during their stay, we will purchase additional food on their behalf. You will be billed upon your return for the cost of the food plus an additional $5.00 service charge.
  13. During play in daycare, dog collars can sometimes get chewed so be sure to leave that “dress up” collar at home and send your dog in an appropriate “play” collar.
  14. Active dogs who have not spent much time on hard surfaces such as concrete or asphalt may get friction blisters on the pads of their paws from the rubber mats in daycare on their first or second visit. We monitor the activity of these new dogs and give them frequent rest periods in an attempt to avoid this but it may still happen. We have not yet seen blisters that needed to be attended by a veterinarian but we will monitor them should this happen during their stay and treat them as deemed necessary including veterinary care should it become necessary. We find that cleaning them with saline solution, applying Bag Balm and covering them with a sock really helps them heal quickly.
